About Wanderflow

Costa Rica is famous for its beaches, volcanoes, and national parks. But some of the most extraordinary places in this country are the ones most tourists never hear about.

Wanderflow was born from countless hours exploring unmarked trails, chatting with locals at small sodas, and stumbling upon waterfalls hidden deep in the cloud forest. We wanted to create a place where these discoveries could be shared, not as a generic list, but as thoughtful, detailed guides written from real experience.

Every guide on this site comes from firsthand visits. We include the honest details: what the experience is really like, how much it actually costs, and whether you need a 4x4. We believe that better information leads to better adventures.

Who's behind Wanderflow

Wanderflow is written by people who live in Costa Rica's northern zone, near Venecia de San Carlos. Every guide starts with a real visit: driving the roads, walking the trails, paying the entrance fees, and talking with the local guides and families who run these places.

That's why you'll find details here that don't appear anywhere else: real prices, honest difficulty ratings, and the small local operators who deserve your business.

What makes us different

  • Off the beaten path: We focus on places that don't appear in the typical guidebooks.
  • Honest reviews: Every guide includes a "What This Is Not" section to set realistic expectations.
  • Practical details: GPS coordinates, real prices, difficulty levels, and local tips. Everything you need to actually get there.
  • Supporting locals: We recommend local operators and small businesses whenever possible.
